LISA and Juan de Fuca Soccer are pleased to host the LISA U8/U9 Grassroots Mini-Festival this Saturday, October 3rd!
Attached you will find the match schedule for the event. Your games will be played at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre Fields, 1767 Island Hwy, in Colwood. Juan de Fuca Field’s #1, #2 are natural grass.
Field and parking maps are also attached to this email. As with all LISA events, we recommend carpooling where possible and arriving early as the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre is often busy with multiple events taking place throughout the weekend.
Festival Format:
- All teams will participate in two matches on Saturday, October 3rd
- Matches are 2 x 20 minute halves
- Match format is 4 vs. 4 (no goalie); or 5 vs. 5 (with a goalie) if both teams agree.
- The field layout will be a mix of 10 foot small-sided goals and pop-up pug nets.
- Game Leaders – Coaches or Parents will “lead” the game (no formal referee) – Please be respectful of all participants and be prepared to start and end your games on time – Games must end within 50 minutes of your dedicated start time.
- Please check-in at the Blue LISA Information tent to receive your team package of t-shirts!
- This is not a competitive Festival – There are no trophies to be won, and no standings will be recorded. Do your best to make it a fun and enjoyable time for everyone, including the officials and volunteers.
There will be a first aid attendant and food trucks on site.
The West Shore Parks and Recreation fields are dog free. You will be asked to remove your dog from the premises (please share this info with your teams and families!).
